We are a group of designers and craftspeople, as well as skilled laborers. Our workforce blurs the line between traditional manufacturing and design; we are all part of the process. All equally important. All hands-on. Among us you’ll find varied backgrounds in industrial design, architecture, carpentry, fine art, metalworking, apparel design, and graphic design. While our professional training runs the gamut, the common thread between us all is a deep commitment to crafting items by hand, with keen attention to detail. When we set out in 2006 to start something different, we were lucky enough to be introduced to Washington saddle maker and our mentor, L.P. Streifel. L.P. started out as a bronco rider in the early 60’s before injury took its toll and sent him in search of a new career. He didn’t have to look far. L.P. became a saddle-maker’s apprentice soon after and began his journey towards becoming a master of all things leather. He has imparted invaluable knowledge, support, and skill to us, and he provided the foundation on which Tanner Goods stands today. We try both to honor those teachings and to carry on his tradition of high quality leather working in every piece we produce.
