We are looking to add to our William Henry team in McMinnville Oregon with a new Handle Shop Tech I.  This is an on site position working with sanding and buffing machines, it is an artistic position that requires an eye for detail. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Handle Shop Tech I essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

 

  1. Process manufacturing orders efficiently and accurately as directed.  Must complete orders on a timely basis, following detailed process instructions while adhering to timeframes provided.
  2. Route raw materials or work-in-process product and accompanying order documentation for delivery to next required production areas.
  3. Maintain a consistent and acceptable pace of work using machines and equipment as directed.
  4. Complete assigned work accurately and within acceptable quality standards.
  5. Demonstrate intelligent decision making.
  6. Maintain an organized and clean work area by efficiently handling, moving, and putting away product and performing basic housekeeping on a regular basis and when required.
  1. Assist with annual physical inventory.
  1. Adhere to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position has no travel requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of six months prior job experience and/or related training in a production environment.  Experience working in a machine shop or metal fabrication shop is desirable.

 

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES REQUIRED

None required

 

SOFTWARE SKILLS

Any experience with work order or inventory software systems is a plus.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must have the ability to read and follow written procedures consistently and accurately.  Must be able to respond clearly and concisely to inquiries and questions from internal team members, managers, external customers, sales reps, and across departments both verbally and in written correspondence.  Must have the ability to communicate respectfully and cooperatively with other team members.  Must keep supervisor apprised of progress or alert for arising issues that require additional support or escalation.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS, REASONING, ADDITIONAL ABILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, type, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.  The employee must be able to stand and walk for 8-10 hours (occasionally 12 hours) a day.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.  The noise level varies in the work environment and is usually moderate but may be loud from time to time.  Temperature in the warehouse may vary between 60 and 90 degrees in extreme periods of heat on occasion.
