The Premium Online Release

May 28, 2009 – 9:44 am

A couple weeks back our Hecklewood Boutique hosted the release of The Premium sneaker, a collaboration between Sole Collector, Jhung Yuro, and Tanner Goods.  The 10 pairs we offered sold out immediately, leaving all the out-of-towners, well, out of luck.

Today brings good news for all those that have been hitting us up – we’ve kept 7 pairs stashed away and will be offering them tomorrow exclusively online here at tannergoods.com.  If the first release is any indication, these won’t last very long.

The Premium set goes live Friday, May 29th at noon PST in the premium section of our online shop.

Tanner Goods:2 Year Natural Patina

May 19, 2009 – 4:38 pm

Stumbled across SuFu member Farmer just after he posted picks of his belt.  2 years of natural patina on one of our Natural Standard belts. Starting to look real tasty.

Hankbuilt x Tanner Goods // Chair No. 2

May 13, 2009 – 6:21 pm

We recently launched the first furniture offerings from Portland based design / fabrication studio Hankbuilt at our gallery on NW 3rd & Couch, and the first official collaboration between our two brands is now available for purchase online in our premium section.

Though most pieces in the show are unique 1 of 1 renditions, we’ve teamed up with Erik from Hankbuilt to produce the first of a handful of inline treatments available for Chair No. 2.

Erik’s vision is similar to ours: every piece of furniture is built by hand from the ground up, and he has spent countless hours over the past year perfecting the design and dimensions of Chair No. 2. The result is a unique, modern design that blends simplistic construction with comfort.

This treatment features a zinc-phos coated steel frame, black oxide hardware, and premium black / white cowhide stretched over birch ply.

All chairs are made to order, and will have a 3-4 week lead time for production.

Nick DePaula KenLu Interview

May 6, 2009 – 3:27 pm

KenLu, one of China’s most prolific sneaker blogs recently contacted our good friend, Nick DePaula to talk about our upcoming collaborative release with Jhung Yuro and Sole Collector. Aside from making foolish statements about our fair cities weather patterns, Nick gives an in depth account on The Premium project from beginning to end.

The Premium launch

May 5, 2009 – 3:18 pm

Dropping this Friday at our Tanner Goods / Hecklewood storefront, one dozen sets of The Premium will be made available to the public for purchase for $150, beginning at 8 PM. Be sure to make it out for the event – we’ll have complimentary drinks available to the 21+ crowd, as well as a DJ Kez spinning live.

See you there.

Jhung Yuro x Sole Collector x Tanner Goods // The Premium

May 5, 2009 – 3:06 pm

For all of us at Tanner Goods, a collaboration is more than simply co-branding a product.  When approaching a project such as this there are a couple things we look for in a partnering label; first and foremost, the collaboration must bring us together with people who shares the same core ideals and a common vision with TG.  Secondly, the paring will produce something that is fresh and new but still resides within both of our realms.

The Premium is exactly that – a joint venture between us and the talented teams at Jhung Yuro and Sole Collector.  I’ll leave the details to Sole Collector’s own Nick DePaula

“Located on opposite ends of the country, the two brands hold equal ideologies in that they place a premium on just that, premium goods. Whether it’s a hand-crafted cardholder from Tanner Goods made in Portland, Oregon that is simplistic and yet utilitarian, or a wearable sneaker from Jhung Yuro that works for every lifestyle of everyday living – we felt both young brands have carved out their own interpretation of quality and have a ton of successes ahead of them. Bringing all three of our likeminded tastes together has made for a set that we feel is refreshingly unexpected and represents a great subtle casual feel rooted in value.

Included in The Premium is one pair of Jhung Yuro Old School shoes nestled into a plush slip bag inside of a uniquely branded box specific to this set. We will also be including a matching two-toned natural leather cardholder – the first time Tanner Goods has dropped a two-tone leather piece – cut and assembled by hand by Tanner Goods co-founder Sam Huff. With an eye for detail and thoughtfulness, we’ve used a high quality brown natural leather along the upper of the shoe, with silver eyelets and lasered logos tying back into the two-tone cardholder. A cashew hued synthetic rand runs around the base of the shoe for some added durability, and a rich belt leather binds the heel quarters together.”

The Premium set will be available for purchase exclusively through our retail storefront and gallery in Portland this Friday, May 8th at 8pm.  More details on the launch coming soon…

Tanner Goods for Tellason

April 29, 2009 – 4:00 pm

The first batch of denim by Tellason is hitting stores this month, and we just received our pairs today at the studio. Based in San Francisco, Tellason produces denim in limited quantities with a focus on classic fit and premium materials. Each pair is constructed from Cone Mill’s White Oak denim, and features a custom Tanner Goods leather patch cut from our 3/4 ounce London Tan full grain leather.

No detail is overlooked, not even the Levi’s lawsuit-proof red tab sewn inside the back pocket.  More detailed pics below…

Tanner Goods accounts Blackbird [Seattle] and Blake [Portland] both have these stocked.  Congrats to the Tellason crew and a successful launch!

3sixteen collaboration // sneak peak

April 28, 2009 – 12:35 pm

Over the past year or so we’ve been working on a small array of projects with one our favorite garment labels, New York-based 3sixteen.  Aside from producing incredibly well designed menswear, the team behind 3sixteen are two of the most talented and genuine guys we’ve been lucky enough to work with.

The 3six camp recently released a video short of some of looks for Fall ‘09.  If you pay close attention, you’ll spot a couple versions of the leather tote we’ll be releasing this year. The production quality is incredible, and the format is a nice alternative to your typical flat product photography.

Keep checking back over the next week or so – we’ll be providing more info soon!
